The collection of letters penned by Gerda Wieck. My grandmother, addressed to her daughter - my mother - spans from 1995 onward. In 2010, the same year her husband passed away, she received a diagnosis indicating 10% Alzheimers. A condition that rapidly deterioted over the following years. She died in 2021.

My grandparents migrated from Germany to Australia a few years after the Second World War. My mother migrated back to Europe many years later. By visualizing their journeys through archival material, diaries, her letters and creating new photographs, I investigate their past lives and try to come closer to a person I never knew.
